The Division of Surgical Oncology provides comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for adult patients with oncologic surgical problems.
Surgical specialties within the division include:
- Treatment of benign and malignant disorders of the breast,
- Management of malignancies of the gastrointestinal tract (colorectal, gastric, pancreatic, hepatic, biliary),
- Treatment of soft tissue sarcoma, and
- Management of cutaneous malignancies.
The division supports and actively participates in the Dana Farber/Brigham and Women’s Hospital Comprehensive Breast Health Center.
Surgeons in the Division of Surgical Oncology are recognized leaders in a wide range of research fields, including health services research, molecular biology of cancer development and metastases, and clinical trials in cancer therapy.
